Computing & Multimedia BTEC National Awd
College Title: Computing & Multimedia BTEC National Award

The Computing & Multimedia BTEC National Award is an internationally recognised part time qualification delivered over a period of one year on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. The Computing & Multimedia BTEC National Award has the same value as two A levels and will provide skills in the following areas:

  • Multimedia Development
  • Website Production & Management
  • Computer Animation
  • e-Commerce
  • Communication and Employability Skills for IT
  • Computer Systems

Entry Requirements
Students will require a minimum of two GCSE's at grades 'C' or above in Maths and English Or a level 2 computing qualification. Mature student will be considered with relevant computer experience

Course Content
The Computing & Multimedia BTEC National Award has the same value as two A levels.

All the assessments are internally assessed through course work. No exams

College Title: ICT Web Games & Images

This is a part-time Level 2 course and has been developed to provide a route into further development of skills in a wide range of job roles within the dynamic interactive Media industry. The course will provide you with an overview of:

  • Digital Graphics
  • Interactive Multimedia Concepts
  • Games Design
  • Web Design
  • Graphic Art
  • Multimedia Products
  • Flash Animation
  • 3D Animation
  • Sound Design and Editing
  • Special Effects
  • Video Production Logo/Title Design
  • Games Design

Entry Requirements:
Level 1 Computing Qualification

Course Content:
You will study three units:

  • Digital Graphics
  • Interactive Multimedia Concepts
  • Games Design

Each unit will be assessed through portfolio work, no exams.

Digital Graphics
This unit will give you the opportunity to use a digital camera to obtain images, transfer these electronically and give you the skills required to use software to edit images to a particular specification.
Interactive Multimedia Concepts
This unit will provide an overview of the technology and techniques required to generate a multimedia product that will include images, sound, video and text.
Games Design
In this new and exciting unit you will identify the components of a digital game, investigate and understand the design process by creating several characters for a given plot.
