New Deal for Musical Youth Jermaine Roberts and his band LDZ will be performing their own track, Mentor Rap, on Friday 27th of September at West Bromwich Albion FC to celebrate the launch of Sandwell Mentor Point. Jermaine, a young unemployed musician from Birmingham, joined the New Deal for Music Programme at Sandwell College. The programme is specifically geared to help young musicians who are looking for a career in the music industry. It is offered on an open learning basis, which means Jermaine was able to plan his 30 hours of learning time a week around projects that best suited his personal career development. Jermaine decided to use some of his time at the college to produce the track for Sandwell Mentor Point using the multi-tracking studio, after only 3 sessions he recorded the final version. Sandwell Mentor Point, an organisation who work with young people locally, are delighted with the track. For more information contact: Kate Eccles,
