Media training in the spotlight

People who want a career in the media can explore their options at a City of Wolverhampton College open evening later this month.

They will be able to meet tutors, discover an exciting range of courses and view state-of-the-art training facilities between 6pm and 9pm on Wednesday, May 14.

Visitors to the Paget Road Campus will also be able to check out the Centre of Vocational Excellence for media industries, which the college runs in partnership with Sandwell College.

The centre forms a Black Country learning hub with high-quality technical facilities for training in journalism, sound engineering, music technology, moving image and photography.

In addition it offers industry-standard training in video, radio, music and television production.

The centre, which has excellent links with employers in the media and music industries, incorporates a journalism training area with interactive news room and a video production studio with digital editing suites at Wolverhampton.

It also offers high-quality music, sound engineering and video production facilities at Lakeside, Smethwick, and photography and digital imaging at West Bromwich.
