Tune in to a new career

Young people who want a career in radio can tune in to some hands-on experience at the City of Wolverhampton College.

A new course starting later this month (April) will allow students to produce their own programme for the college radio station, WCR 1350 AM.

Free training is being provided through the college's Centre of Vocational Excellence for media industries, which it runs in partnership with Sandwell College.

Tutor Martyn Haynes said: "This is a very practical course which offers an excellent opportunity to become involved in the day-to-day running of a live radio studio."

Students will be able to learn all about news production, editing and presentation techniques on the 12-week course, which starts on April 29.

For more information about the Radio Studio Production course contact College Direct on 01902 836000 or, alternatively, visit the Centre of Vocational Excellence website at www.mediacove.com
