Music seminar hits the right note Top names from the music industry will be on hand during an all-day seminar at the City of Wolverhampton College on June 7. They will provide advice and guidance for people who want a career in the music business, whether as a performer, songwriter, record producer, sound engineer, promoter, roadie or manager. Paul Birch, head of internationally famed Revolver Records, and Robin Valk, legendary BRMB rock jock and currently director of Jump FM, will provide keynote speeches at the event. Both men will be keen to share their insider knowledge and answer whatever questions are thrown at them. Organiser Pete Whitehouse said: "Over the past few years the City of Wolverhampton College has carved out an enviable reputation for its music business course, which explores the vices and virtues of every aspect of the music industry. "The seminar will build on that success by bringing the industry itself to the very people who want to know how to succeed within it." The event is being promoted in association with the college's Centre of Vocational Excellence for media industries, which it runs in partnership with Sandwell College. Tickets, price £10 (£6 concessions) to include a buffet lunch, are available from the Midlands Box Office at the Little Civic, North Street, Wolverhampton (tel 01902 552121). More information is available from Pete Whitehouse on 01902 317646. |
