Jobless people tune in to new skills People who are out of work are tuning in to new IT skills and learning about radio production at the same time. They have signed up for a free course at Wolverhampton Community Radio Training's UK Online centre, which is also home to the City of Wolverhampton College's student radio station. Trainer Martyn Haynes said: "This course is one of a kind in the city and benefits from being based in a 24-hour radio station''. "The dedicated facilities offer a great learning environment for the unemployed and those who lack the basic IT skills which are needed in today's workplace." BBC WM presenter Jenny Wilkes visited the radio station, which is based at the Newhampton Centre, to present certificates to successful trainees. The UK Online centre operated by WCRT is open from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. More information about courses is available from Martyn Haynes on 01902-572260 or, alternatively, visit the radio station¹s website at www.wcr1350.co.uk |
