BBC presenter comes home

Satnam Rana with COCW Media studnets Megan Smallman and Christopher SheinA BBC TV and Radio presenter today (Tuesday 5 December) returned to her roots at City of Wolverhampton College to speak to the journalists of tomorrow.

Satnam Rana, from Midlands’ Today, talked to media students and answered their many questions at the college's Paget Road campus.

She an established reporter on BBC's regional news programme and also has her own radio show Midlands Masala which broadcasts every Friday evening on BBC WM.

Satnam said: ''As a Wolverhampton girl I am glad that I can come back to my home city and help our future journalists. I was inspired by my work at Wolverhampton Community Radio and I hope I can show you that having a dream and fulfilling it is a possibility. I look forward to my visit.''

Students enjoyed the opportunity to ask Satnam about her career and work for the BBC. They also conducted a mock news conference, complete with TV cameras and radio recorders, as part of a student assignment.
