College makes the news Students who want a career in Broadcast Journalism should tune in to the new Foundation Degree on offer at City of Wolverhampton College. The new qualification, run in partnership with Wolverhampton University, is for students who have a nose for news and want a practical course that will ensure they'll master the necessary skills ready for a demanding career in the communications industry. The two-year course, starting in October, is taught by industry professionals and covers television and radio studio production and news gathering, photography, traditional print and web-based journalism. Simon Larson, Director of Creative Arts at the college, said: "This exciting new venture means that both full and part-time students will have access to state-of-the-art equipment at both the university and the college. Successful candidates will be able to progress to an appropriate degree in Broadcast Journalism and will also be armed with the necessary skills and qualifications to seek work in the industry."
