Mayor of Wolverhampton visits Wolverhampton Community Radio 

The Mayor of Wolverhampton Councillor Alan Hart is visiting Wolverhampton Community Radio (WCR) based at the Newhampton Arts Centre on Wednesday 2 nd February. During his visit reporter Kerri Skelding will interview him about the local charities that he supports.

The interview will be aired on Sunday 6 th February, between 7and 8pm on the 95.6FM BBC Radio WM's community magazine programme, which is produced weekly by WCR's Senior Producer Saul Abner.

Reporter Kerri is on work experience at WCR, she is also currently studying towards a degree in Media and Communications at the University of Central England .

WCR currently broadcasts to the college's main Paget Road Campus site on 1350 AM and online. The station submitted a bid for a community radio licence at the end of last year- they are still awaiting news.

WCR's Manager Nikki Stewart said, “The Mayor's visit is an exciting opportunity for the development of the station, and also a great way for the Mayor to engage with his local community”.
