Photography Showcase

Graduating HNC Photography students are set to shine a spotlight on their work next week.

They are presenting a showcase of traditional and digital photographic imagery at the Lighthouse Media Centre from Monday (7 June) until Friday (11th June).

The students, who have all studied photography at City of Wolverhampton College, are aged between 21 and 54.

The exhibition is entitled ‘f-eight' as it focuses on the work of eight graduating students who have produced images within a diverse range of traditional and digital photographic techniques.

Faculty Director Simon Larson said: "The students have worked extremely hard over the past two years and the exhibition is the highlight showcase of their studies. Some of the group are already working on photographic commissions while others have started their own business with the remainder undertaking a degree in photography."

During the past two years, the students have studied a broad range of photographic techniques from studio through to location photography with a growing emphasis on digital imaging. They have enjoyed guest speakers and visits to local professional photographic studios.

The promotional flyer for the event was designed by a student from the course, Jon George, who is starting his own corporate events photography business.

Two students have formed their own portrait/wedding company, while others have undertaken a broad range of commissions from shooting local and regional bands, through to sports photography.
